The Kaf Taht El Ghar cave is a major feature of the Moroccan prehistoric heritage. Discovered in 1955 by Tarradell, a large number of excavations have since been organised at the site.

They have revealed that Kaf Taht El Ghar was inhabited by humans 6,000 years BC! During this Neolithic period, mankind discovered agriculture, sedentarisation and the production of ceramics. Evidence of this is found in the prehistoric pottery and ceramics revealed in recent digs. If the wealth of Morocco’s prehistoric heritage is well known, much is owed to Kaf Taht El Ghar.
