Ream National Park is located 18 km from Sihanoukville and is a worthwhile visit whilst in the area. Open since 1993 the 21,000 hectares (15000 hectares terrestrial; 6000 hectares marine habitats) it offers secluded beaches, mangroves forests and tropical jungles.

Some 155 different species of birds have been recorded as well as monkey, mouse deer and pangolin. During the months of December, January and February it is possible to see the famous freshwater dolphin.

Boat trips into the park can be easily arranged in Sihanoukville; a guide is well worth the extra expense.
