Chong Khneas is a floating village at the edge of the lake and is the closest and most easily accessible to Siem Reap. It is a popular visit and so gets busy but nonetheless a two-hour boat trip through the floating village is interesting. Boatmen are usually happy to point out the differing Khmer and Vietnamese floating households, and explain about the floating market. Be aware that the mandatory stops are difficult to avoid, however the highly recommended Gecko Environment Centre which displays information about the region's biodiversity is well worthwhile.
