Housed in an historic eighteenth century monument, the collection of the Salé Regional Ceramics Museum presents everyday utensils from the region and exceptional pieces from the Almohad (twelfth century) and Merinid (fourteenth century) eras.

Here are plates, pots, pancake dishes, red and ochre jars from the Rif, hand-moulded by women without a wheel, unique objects that conjure up the riches of everyday craftsmanship. In the covered courtyard of galleries supported by stone columns, magnificent well rims from the Almohad region, with their monochrome glaze, glint in the sun. A fourteenth century jar with engraved pattern completes this overview of ancient know-how that continues through to the present day.
