The wealth of wildlife found at Punta Suarez, on the eastern tip of Española is unmatched anywhere in Galapagos and possibly the world. Of all visitor sites, it is here that most endemic species can be found.
Alongside the largest marine iguanas, large colourful lava lizards, sea lions, hawks, mockingbirds, masked boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, Galapagos doves, Sally Lightfoot crabs, several species of finch and the large-billed flycatcher, the unique mating rituals of the waved albatross and blue-footed booby can be witnessed between April and November each year.
A trail leads towards a dramatic blow-hole where water shoots some 20 metres in the air and beyond to the only place in Galapagos where Waved Albatross nest. This is a truly overwhelming wonder of Nature.
