Just a short water taxi ride across the Academy Bay from Puerto Ayora towards the Finch Bay Hotel is the Punta Estrada beach, and Playa las Alemanes. Both are great options for getting away from the crowds, relaxing and perhaps doing a bit of snorkelling.

Walking along a short 20 minute trail from here leads to Las Grietas – spectacular saltwater grottoes with high lava walls that are popular for snorkelling.
