There are several other places of interest in and around Stanley which can be visited. A few ideas are listed below and also see the East Falkland information for more on the island (click here).
Cape Pembroke - a half day walk offering an interesting introduction to Falklands birdlife on the way to seeing restored 19th century lighthouse.
Battlefield Tours – around Goose Green and Darwin or up Tumbledown Mountain. It is a moving experience and a step back through history. Led by local people with expert knowledge, you will be guided through the battles of the 1982 war.
Helicopter tour of Sea Lion Island.
Launch Trips – around the harbour, Kidney Island, Port Harriet Point, fishing trips.
Kidney Cove – whole or half day trips by 4WD vehicles to view species of penguin.
Volunteer Point – 4WD excursions to Volunteer Point, where there numerous penguins including the Island's largest colony of King Penguins.
