Omdurman Souk is one of the best places in Khartoum and around to shop for gifts such as wood carvings, necklaces, bracelets, beads, gold and silver jewellery, clay coffee pots, Sudanese baskets, food and spices. One of the best times to visit is early in the morning when it is cool, or in the late afternoon when shops re-open after Siesta. Except for a few of the more exclusive shops in Khartoum, bargaining is expected.
