Playa Samara has 4km of sandy beach with moderate surf, mangrove swamps and ample coastal greenery, including manchineel trees, coconut palms and creepers such as beach bean. At the centre of the beach stands an enormous old strangler fig, a well known landmark of Samara.

The beach offers many activities such as walking, horse riding, swimming, mountain biking and boat or kayak trips. It is also a very popular place for surfing.
