At the far end of Porto Pim beach is a road that leads up to the top of the collapsed crater of Monte da Guia. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the centre of Horta and at the top is perched the pretty whalers church and a fantastic view over the hourglass shaped bay with its aquamarine sea.
