Misfah’s stone houses have a troglodyte feel to them, built into the rockface some 10km up a track from Hamra. The village is still inhabited and the falaj system working – a good place to see this marvellous irrigation system in use; its efficiency is obvious from the vast numbers of dates, mangos and other fruits and vegetables that the village produces. Well worth a visit if in the Al Hamra area.
