This masterpiece of Hispano-Moorish art, the Bou Inania Medersa, was completed in 1358, was built according to the classical plans of the Koranic school. Your visit therefore starts with the central courtyard and its basin, surrounded by a gallery, whose walls are richly decorated with “zelliges” and splendid wood carvings.
It is a magnificent example of Moorish decoration. You will also admire the prayer room with its tall sculpted cedar wood ceiling and the magnificent stucco-decorated mihrab. The whole building has remarkable enamelled faience tiles and plaster and wood sculptures. On the first floor, you will discover countless tiny rooms, home to the students and the terrace which offers a breathtaking view of the Meknès medina.
