Maziwe Island is about 15 nautical miles off the coast of Pangani town. A Marine Reserve since 1975, Maziwe is an ideal place for swimming, snorkelling and diving as well as research expeditions, sunbathing and watching dazzling tropical fish.

The island is a treasure of marine diversity. Over 200 species of fish, 35 Genera of corals (soft and hard) and an array of sea-grasses, algae and sponges can be found in and around the Island Reserve.
