Located on the south side of Lake Atitlan, the village of Cerro de Oro sits at the foot of the volcano of the same name. A hike to the top of this impressive volcano is rewarded by fantastic views of the whole lake and the surrounding area. 

Its crater once contained a Maya fortress and on occasions you can witness Mayan rituals which are an amazing and authentic glimpse of local Mayan life in this area.
