This museum was founded by the Department of Antiquities and officially opened in 1975 and houses items representing the following Jordan’s 3 main cultures: the culture of the desert (Bedouin), the culture of the villages and the culture of the towns and cities.
The collection of the museum represents items of daily life from the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, such as costumes of the various areas in Jordan and utensils used for food preparation, making bread, coffee and tea.
