Also known as Water Palace the Jal Mahal is passed on the way to or from Amber and deserves a brief pause to enjoy its location. Built in the mid 18th century by Madho Singh I the Palace was developed as a hunting lodge for the royal duck shooting parties. A causeway leads from the banks of Man Sagar lake to the palace and it’s a peaceful spot for a rest.
