A military fortress built in 1582 by Sultan Saadien Ahmed el Mansour to watch out for enemies and protect Fès. In 1963 it became an arms museum, receiving the Dar Snah collection from the Batha Palace.
The fort offers a wide range of arms and weapons, almost 1,100 objects are presented in 15 rooms. At the end of the visit, you will undoubtedly be impressed by a huge bronze Moroccan cannon, dating back to the sixteenth century (12 tonnes, 4.80 m long). Called “Sidi Mimoun”, this cannon is said to have been used at the battle of the three Kings.
