The incredible Devil’s Crown is so called as it is a sunken cone of a volcano resting just beneath the surface of the sea, with the jutting pinnacles of the rim rising like pointed crests of a coronet.
Whilst the waters outside contain strong currents and can be rough, the waters within are relatively calm (although caution should still be taken) and offers what is perhaps the best snorkelling in Galapagos. Here an extraordinary number of fish swim with shark, turtles and sea lions.
