The blood-thirsty nature of Shiva’s consort Kali is satisfied on a weekly basis here at Dakshinkali where the black stone, six-armed image has sacrifices made to her twice a week. Non-Hindus cannot enter the precinct where the deity of Kali is kept when on Saturdays and Tuesdays people come to sacrifice uncastrated male animals. A visit is a memorable experience but not for the overly sensitive.
