Rivaling the Cathedral with its stunning ornate architecture, the design and the façade of La Compañia are excellent examples of Andean Baroque. The original building was constructed in 1571 on the grounds of the ancient palace of Inca Huayna Cápac, the Amarucancha. Destroyed in the earthquake of 1650, the current structure took almost two decades to construct, and it is equally ornate inside. Look out for the incredibly detailed canvas painting depicting the wedding of Martín García de Loyola with Beatriz Clara Coya.
