Chobar is a small village overlooking the Bagmati River as it flows through the Chobar Gorge. The town houses the 15th century Adinath Lokeshwar Temple, dedicated to Rath (Red) Machhendranath and sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists. Notable are the many pots and pans donated by newlyweds in order to guarantee a happy and long married life.
