Located on the Chiang Mai-Lampang road near Wat Chet Yot, the Chiang Mai National Museum has set out to preserve the art and culture of Chiang Mai, northern Thailand and the ancient the Lanna Kingdom. Interesting exhibitions include the history of the Lanna Kingdom from the establishment of Chiang Mai city to its peak and decline under Burmese control from 1558 to 1769 and the development of the Lanna art style.
