Located behind the town, is Cefalu’s rocky peninsula, ‘La Rocca’. Here you will find the remains of an ancient structure called the Temple of Diana, dating from the 9th century BC. At the peninsula’s highest point you will find the remains of a medieval castle, dating from the 12th or 13th century. A walk up to the top is well worth it as the views of the town, beach, and coastline below are magnificent.
