Fed by freshwater springs the Lavatoio is a medieval wash house, used up to a few decades ago by women who wanted to wash in its cool running water. Descending down a flight of stairs at its entrance, you enter a low ceilinged room resembling a cave. Around its three walls are numerous mouths from which the water flows.
