The majestic Duomo of Cefalu was built in 1131, in a Sicilian Romanesque style. With a well preserved exterior it is largely decorated with pointed arches and windows with a huge four storey tower on each side of the facade. The interior was restored in 1559, with some mosaics preserved on the apse and the last bay of the choir, which are superb examples of the Byzantine art of the period.
