Located 2000m above sea level along a difficult snaking path en route to Wadi Naam lie around 90 beehive toms. They date back 5000 years and – considering their great age – have survived quite well. Originally many were some 5m in height. Looking remarkably like the mini cooling-towers of smokestacks they are a relatively recent ‘discovery’, wider at the base and tapering as their stone walls gain height. When opened archaeological finds included human remains, beads and pottery.
