Bait Na'man is a fine example of a 17th century fortified palace-cum-mansion. Built by Imam Saif bin Sultan the relatively recently restored property is probably the best example of its kind in the country. As a kind of little place in the country the Imam certainly knew how to live and planted thousands of palms around the property, irrigated with the ubiquitous falaj system with water drawn from Nakhl.

Inside the beautifully decorated ceilings are high, in the local style, which allowed for cool air to circulate. The entire family could live in comfort here. A guide will show you living quarters, explain the construction method (using the technique of sarouj plaster) and explain how the canons that once pointed from the ramparts are now in Barka Fort.
