Mauritania Travel  is managed by Mr Said Souknaoui,  a vastly experienced adventure tour operator and desert expert with years of logistical experience in Mauritania. Web sales, tour planning and reservations are handled directly from Marrakech by a small and dedicated office team, all very familiar with all aspects of travel in Mauritania.

Responsible Travel

As a responsible Mauritania tour operator, Mauritania Travel is committed to the employment of local guides, drivers and other support staff, undertaking training from our regional North African base in Marrakech. Whilst on wilderness tours, treks and desert safaris all waste is either burnt (where appropriate) or collected and returned to Nouakchott or major towns en route to be disposed of at waste collection points. This is supervised and managed by our local guides, each of who is trained in the importance of protecting and maintaining Mauritania's stunning natural environment.

Walking & Trekking in the Adrar

Season: Jan, Feb, Mar, Aug, Sep, Oct

With over 15 years experience in organising and operating trekking tours in the dramatic Adrar region  we have a deep-rooted knowledge of several excellent trekking routes. Should you wish to head out for a winter walk into the dramatic, almost surreal, landscapes of the Sahara we can organise this too.
 

Camel Trekking Safaris

Season: Jan, Feb, Mar, Aug, Sep, Oct

We can organise and operate camel treks lasting from 1 hour to several days.
