Background

Petra Moon specialises in providing itineraries which lead travellers on journeys far removed from the standard cultural programs other less specialised operators offer – if you want something more unusual it’s likely we can help.

Our trekking programs will help you discover Jordan’s natural beauty and diverse ecosystems. Our “Petra in Depth” series will take you along hidden paths to discover monuments seen by very few visitors. Our hands-on cultural adventures will allow you to immerse yourself in Jordan’s famous cuisine, or in the art of mosaics, or in mastering pottery, weaving, paper-making or other modern interpretations of traditional Jordanian handicrafts. We want to make sure you have the “Wow!” experiences you’ve travelled to Jordan in search of.

Licences And Associations

JTBPetra Moon Tourism Services is licensed by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to act as a tour operator. We are members of the Jordan Society of Travel Agents, the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators’ Association, the American Society of Travel Agents, the Jordan Tourism Board and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature.

Responsible Travel

Since our inception Petra Moon has been committed to Responsible Travel. The local people we deal with are not just suppliers to us, but our friends. We are committed to sharing the benefits of travellers visiting Jordan with the local communities we deal with along the way. We are the acknowledged number 1 partner of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, the Wadi Rum Ecotourism Project and several community-based handicraft societies and locally owned businesses. We are constantly searching for new trekking routes and unique cultural experiences to bring our guests into direct and mutually beneficial contact with the hospitable Jordanian people.
