Founded by Khaled el Kholy Solar Empire started with few assets but great energy. Khaled is a qualified guide and spent many years accompanying groups to the major sites in Egypt. He recognized that the market lacked a forward-thinking ground operator that embraced the needs of the 21st century traveller, people who wanted more than just a sightseeing tour.

The company grew from these small beginnings to now handle many thousands of travellers each year, yet remains small enough to ensure a personal service. We now own our own vehicles and have a modern office in Heliopolis, Cairo, from where our dedicated team looks after the needs of all our clients. In addition to Cairo Solar Empire Travel have offices in Beijing, Taipei and Dubai.

Solar Empire Travel specialise in arranging cultural tours from Alexandria to Aswan along the Nile Valley and through the Western Desert. We are able to arrange weekend break-style trips to Cairo and other Nile Valley cities, desert safaris in the Western Desert, cruises on the Nile, special interest tours (bird-watching, textile, Bedouin-life, Egyptian cooking, painting, photography etc. etc.) and Nile Valley and Western Desert archaeological/study tours.

Explore the Nile Valley

One of our principle specialisations is the arrangement of sightseeing tours along the Nile Valley to places such as Cairo, Luxor and Aswan. We do this with a difference choosing the best hotels in their category and by ensuring travellers experience something of the real Egypt, for example by meeting our Nubian friends for a traditional evening meal, or by spending a few nights sailing on a felucca north from Aswan, camping by the riverbank as we go.

Nile Cruises

As part of your holiday why not allow us to demonstrate our experience by booking a Nile cruise for you? 4-day cruises from Luxor to Aswan and 3-day cruises from Aswan to Luxor are available. Any category of cruise can be booked, from 4* to 5* Deluxe.
