Food and Beverages
Although we prefer to book our Albanian tours on a half board basis, with breakfast and dinner (HB), we actually book hotels on a breakfast only basis (BB) most of the time to give our clients a chance to experience local Albanian cuisine in some of the traditional or exclusive restaurants in each particular town.
Accommodation
We are the first and leading company when it comes to booking accommodation in Albania, working with more than 100 Albanian hotels and providing our clients with a wide range of choices from budget to luxury accommodation.
However, on our tours we prefer to use mid-range new hotels as well as luxury hotels with experience in this sector. This to be able to offer our clients a little pampering at the end of an intensive day of exploration. Where available we offer hotel reservation services at authentic Albanian hotels and family-run guesthouses.
Transport
We make use of some of the best vehicles available in Albania in order to ease as much us possible the effects of some of the tiresome Albanian rural roads slowly undergoing an upgrading process. We own cars and a MPV-s, which we use for private transfers and individual services including tours, while we hire mini-buses and buses from some of the best Albanian transport companies.
All vehicles have air-conditioning, seatbelts, microphone, radio, TV, VHS or DVD while all buses have a refrigerating compartment as well. Our policy is to strictly use only experienced drivers. On our luxury tours we only contract vehicles of 2000 and later production years and include water on the bus for each client.
Local Guides
We apply a different approach to guiding: being able to speak a language well is not enough to be a guide for Albania Holidays.
Our guides are selected on knowledge and personality as well as the command of the language. We introduced tests and training for them, and as a result have now managed to select and work with some of the most professional guides in Albania.
Age Restrictions
Children under 18 must travel with their parents.
Our terms and conditions differ according to services booked. For tours a deposit of 30% must be received at least 45 days prior to tour start date. The remaining amount is to be paid no later than 14 days prior to tour start date. Full details follow:
1. Service description
The information on this website about our services has been created by Albania-Holidays Ltd. We are a licensed Albanian travel agency that offers a range of incoming and outgoing tourist products. We also act as an intermediate between hotels and users in order to provide our customers with the possibility to search and book hotel accommodation online. Our service is based on information provided by hotels. We do our utmost best to ensure that all information provided on this website is accurate.
2. Hotel categorisation in Albania
Please note that most hotels in Albania are not yet officially rated. The Ministry of Tourism of Albania is the only official body that issues star ratings for accommodation providers. However, finding ourselves only with a handful of officially rated hotels and having inspected each of the hotels physically we decided to rate them ourselves on this website to provide our customers with guidelines about the quality of each of the hotels displayed.
3. Booking method
The online booking can be made by web enquiry only. After receiving the enquiry the total price of requested services is confirmed through the enquiry system by one of our sales representatives. If the client accepts the price offered than the reservation becomes a legally binding contract. If requested, and in all prepayment cases, Albania Holidays will issue a voucher which serves as booking confirmation of these services.
4. Payment
a) Credit Card Payment can be made directly to our US partner company at the secure link https://albmozaik.com/directpurchase.aspx. For further information regarding the company and their safe feaures please visit their website. At the moment payments will be in USD only. Therefore Euro amounts will be converted into dollars based on the exchange rate given by the Albanian American Bank at the day of payment. A 6% additional charge for administrative and bank commission for transactions made by credit card online.
b) Credit or Debit Card (Visa and Master, Visa Electron, Maestro) through POS when physically present at our office.
c) Bank Transfer at our bank account which will be given upon request. The customer is responsible for all bank commissions and Albania Holidays should receive the exact amount agreed. In case of short payments the customers maybe asked to pay the difference at the hotels or offices of Albania holidays. In all cases when payment is made with this method a copy of the bank transaction should be e-mailed or faxed to Albania Holidays as confirmation
d) Money transfer (if you are paying small amounts of money) through money transfer companies like Western Union, Money Gram.
e) Cash. You can pay in cash only if the reservation is guaranteed through Credit Card or other forms of guarantee provided.
Important Notice:
Albania Holidays reserves the right to request prepayment of any reservation.
Moreover in the cases stated below prepayment is a must to guarantee reservations:
· Bookings that occur within 48 hours prior to arrival.
· Bookings of hotel accommodation for stays longer than 1 night.
· Bookings of different rooms or different hotels.
· Bookings for the holiday packages, hotel accommodation and tours of which payment should not be made later than 21-14 days prior to arrival date.
5. Prices
The prices of all services offered are in Euros and include all local taxes.
6. Booking Cancellation
When you book your accommodation or any other services with us, you are entering into a legally binding contract. If you cancel the booking unilaterally, you may have to pay compensation for any loss resulting from the cancellation. A reservation can be cancelled at any time in written form by e-mail or fax. The burden of proof that a cancellation has been made accordingly, lies with the customer. Our cancellation policy will apply only once your booking is confirmed. A confirmed booking is when we have advised you that the hotel room is available and you have received confirmation of this reservation in a written form.
Our cancellation policy is as follows:
· Normal season
a. If the reservation is cancelled/amended at least 24 hours, prior to the arrival date, then a full refund will be given minus the refund transaction charges
b. If the reservation is cancelled/amended less than 24 hours, prior to the arrival date, then a penalty equivalent to the charge of 1 night total accommodation will apply. Furthermore for the rest of the sum paid a refund transaction charge equivalent to 40 Euro or 6% of refunded sum will also apply.
· High season (beach hotels only) Festive and Holiday period:
a. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 30 days or more, prior to the arrival date, then a full refund will be given minus the refund transaction charges
b. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 30 to 21 days, prior to the arrival date, then a 30 % administration and banking charge will apply
c. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 21 to 10 days, prior to the arrival date, then a 50 % administration and banking charge will apply
d. If the reservation is cancelled/amended less then 10 days prior to the arrival date non refund will be made
e. In case of no shows or early check outs non refund will be made
· Tours and other services
a. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 30 days or more, prior to the arrival date, then a full refund will be given minus the refund transaction charges
b. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 30 to 21 days, prior to the arrival date, then a 30 % administration and banking charge will apply
c. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 21 to 7 days, prior to the arrival date, then a 50 % administration and banking charge will apply
d. If the reservation is cancelled/amended less then 7 days prior to the arrival date non refund will be made
e. In case of no shows or early interruption of the tour, non refund will be made
Exception:
If the booking cancellation is due to case of force majeure or exceptional circumstances (wars, strikes, disasters, terrorist actions, death of a close family member…) the guest will be obliged to present proof in written form. In such a case Albania Holidays will offer a full refund minus the refund transaction charges explained above in point b of the normal season.
The refund will be made through bank transfer or through your credit card, depending on the original method of purchase
7. Disclaimer
This information has been compiled in good faith but you should always verify information before you act upon it. Under no circumstances shall we be liable for any indirect or consequential loss of profit, as a result of using our services. Our maximum liability is always limited to the amount you have paid for one of our services conform the term and conditions presented herein.
8. Changing terms of use
Albania Holidays holds the right to change the terms of use at any moment without previous notice. Changes take effect at the moment of denunciation. Visitors are obligated to notice those changes and adapt to them.
