Constructed in 1954 the impressive Owen Falls Dam supplies most of Uganda (and some of Kenya) with electricity. The new falls that were created are also impressive. The main road from Kampala crosses the dam - stop at either end of the dam and walk back for a closer look if dam construction interests you. Beware that photography is not permitted.
