Damaged during the war the brick and stucco That Phoum Phouk stupa is located 6 km from town. Built in 1628 it was once the most respected stupa in the district, however the original site has been pillaged several times since its partial destruction. It remains however an atmospheric place to visit. In 2003 however a new stupa was constructed and dedicated beside the ruins of the old.
