Port Louis is the oldest settlement on the islands, dating back to the colony’s French foundation in 1764.  Many of the buildings are now ruins, but others are still occupied.

Port Louis is of deep historical significance in the Falklands, but it should be noted that the area is privately owned and not open to tourists.
