Probably the most diverse area in Botswana, Xakanaxa is situated where permanent and seasonal delta meets. The area attracts a myriad of game species and game viewing is always spectacular throughout the year. Species commonly found in the area include giraffe, lion, elephant, waterbuck and an incredible selection of colourful birds.

Xakanaxa is an ideal base from which to explore the vast expanse of the Okavango Delta on a boat safari, journeying through crystal clear channels, perhaps breaking for lunch served on a sand bank in the water, and taking bush walks on an island. Xakanaxa lagoon provides a great spot to watch the sunset and scores of herons, egrets and storks coming in to roost at the heronries.
