The Bedouin have been associated with dramatic Wadi Rum even before TE Lawrence ‘of Arabia’ passed this way. Spend 5 days travelling with a Bedouin guide to learn about the traditional way of life and connection the Bedouin enjoy with the desert, riding a camel and experiencing the amazing colours of the valley – an experience that will remain with you forever.
Arrive in Wadi Rum to begin exploring the moonscape terrain T. E. Lawrence rightly described as "vast, echoing and God-like." Travel through Wadi Rum on camel back, the traditional way of viewing the magnificent desert landscape. Along the way we may learn how to saddle and care for our camels and a bond starts to form between us. The movement of the camel is gentle and soporific, not at all uncomfortable as many believe. Later this afternoon we arrive at our camping spot. As the sun dips the colours of the valley change – one of the spectacular natural shows that desert dwellers enjoy.
The sun rises casting a yellow glow over the sandstone walls of the valley. Early morning is a magical time as we wake perhaps with dew covering us and our tents. Today and over the next few days we’ll encounter rock art, moon like rock formations, natural rock bridges as well as the bright red rolling sand dunes of Wadi Rum. At the end of the day arrive to your campsite for another night under the stars.
Continue our desert adventure
We have a final day exploring the vastness of the desert. By now we are in a familiar and enjoyable routine having learned much from our Bedouin host. Later this afternoon we say goodbye to our mounts and Bedouin guide as our tour ends. Please let us know if we can make additional travel arrangements for you.

Minimum 18
Good shoes for hiking, sun protection (suncream and hat), water bottle. We advise you to pack light for this safari as camels can only carry a certain amount of weight in addition to the rider. If possible please bring one small bag; you will not need much out in the desert. Please also keep in mind that the desert nights can be cold even in the summer so warm clothing is required for cold mornings - ideally a wind/waterproof jacket and a warm mid-layer. Mattresses and blankets are provided, however you may decide to bring a sleeping bag as nights can be very cold even in summer.
This Guided Private Journey can operate from a minimum of 1 traveller, however is designed to appeal to couples, families and small groups who want to appreciate the stunning desert scenery of Wadi Rum together
If you have food allergies or special dietary requirements please let us know in advance.
The Bedouin guide speaks limited English, but communicates a love and understanding of the desert and the timeless rhythm of life in a hostile environment simply brilliantly.
The camping on this trip is participation camping meaning you are expected to assist with camp chores and the setting up/taking down of our simple camp.
