We meet at around 15:00hrs to make introductions and get to know our guide and the local crew. We will be issued with equipment, be fitted for a kayak and be briefed on the programme, the safety procedures and the local environment. We typically invite everyone to meet on this evening. Whilst no evening meal is included we generally dine together in a relaxed downtown restaurant.

We kayak out from Kaş paddling past the town’s Hellenistic theatre heading due west to round the point of the Kaş Çukurbağ Peninsula. On the way we head to Pigeon Island for a break and a swim-stop. Then head to a group of small islands for lunch. After lunch we paddle back towards Kaş, making a small portage on the way.

We get kitted up and depart Kaş harbour around 09:30hrs. Heading east we reach Ufukdere a sheltered bay with a tiny island just off-shore. Lunch. Return to Kaş visiting the sheltered bay of Limanağzı – here are caves to explore by kayak and cliff-side tombs to wonder at before paddling across the bay to Kaş Harbour.

We drive to our kayak base in the Kekova region and make a full day tour of Kekova Island and the underwater ruins around it; an optional visit to Simena castle is possible. After lunch in a waterfront café we head back to the mainland and return by vehicle to Kaş.

We have an opportunity today to relax and explore the town and local area. Optional visit to the nearby Greek island of Kastellorizo/Meis can be arranged.

We drive to the Esen river estuary and launch our kayaks. We quickly reach the sea and head east passing the golden sands of Patara Beach, a conservation zone and protected nesting beach for the giant loggerhead turtle, Caretta caretta. When we reach Kalkan we enter the harbour, disembark and store our kit. Half the journey is complete. We return to Kaş by vehicle (25 mins).

After breakfast we drive to Kalkan to complete our voyage. We depart Kalkan harbour and continue bearing east: our objective is Kaş. En route we pass some beautiful cliffs and coves and also pass the famous sites of the Blue Cave and Kaputaş Beach where we may have lunch. We continue our journey to complete our voyage in Kaş harbour – the highlight of a great week.
