What To Bring
Jordan is a friendly and traditional Muslim country and local sensibilities should be observed. Whilst you will see other travellers dressed less appropriately we recommend ladies and girls cover their shoulders and wear a longer, lightweight skirt. Men can wear shorts, but all visitors should dress respectively when visiting villages or entering places of worship.
Dress in light cottons between March and October, taking warmer clothing for the evenings between October and March – Jordanian winters can get very coldso windproof clothing (such as a Goretex-style jacket over a fleece) is recommended.
Good, strong and comfortable footwear, ideally with some ankle support is recommended for exploring the archaeological sites.
Most importantly bring sun-protection – suncream, sunglasses and a hat with a brim.
