The tour starts today in Kampala. For travellers flying to (and arriving at) Entebbe airport you will be transferred from Entebbe to Kampala (transfer included in the price).

Today we make the long transfer by road to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home of the fabled mountain gorillas. We travel via Kabale through beautiful scenery, known as the 'Switzerland of Uganda'.

After breakfast we walk to the start point of our gorilla trek to meet the rest of our group and park ranger/guides for a briefing. Our trek today may take between 1 hour to 8 hours to find the mountain gorillas. The tracking starts at the area where the gorillas were the previous day. We take a picnic lunch and will break at a suitable place en route. Once we've located the gorillas, park regulations allow us to spend an hour with them before we make our return trek to our accommodation.

After an early breakfast we'll enjoy a nature walk in Bwindi Forest looking for forest birds. Afterwards we transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha. Once in QENP we'll take a slow game drive en route to our next accommodation.

After an early morning cup of tea around 0630 we depart for a game drive in the northerly part of the park, following the Kasenyi track. This is the best time for opportunities of viewing big cats in action. Later, we return for breakfast. Later in the day we'll enjoy one of the highlights of our visit to the park - a launch trip on the Kazinga Channel. If we're lucky we should see buffalo, hippo, crocodile and possibly elephant. European migrant birds such as terns and gulls congregate here in large flocks.

We take a packed breakfast this morning as we head for Kyambura Gorge to track chimpanzees. Afterwards we make our return journey to Kampala, breaking for lunch at the Lakeview Hotel in Mbarara en route.
