Uganda's Mountain Gorillas
From Kampala we cross the Equator and spend time relaxing at Lake Bunyoni before heading to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to experience one of the world's greatest wildlife encounters as we search on foot for highland mountain gorillas. Bwindi is one of the best places to observe these gentle giants and although reaching them through the undergrowth can be a challenge, the chances of sightings are normally over 90%. Returning via Kampala we next explore Jinja and the Source of the Nile, where there's the chance to shoot the rapids with some Grade 5 rafting.

Serengeti & Ngorongoro gamelands
Traversing Lake Victoria's northern shores to Tanzania we enter the Serengeti through the remote 'western corridor' and are at once among its abundant game. Here we search the plains for the 'Big Five' as well as many other species including hyena, jackal, topi and cheetah. Travelling via the archaeological site of 'Olduvai Gorge' we reach the Ngorongoro Crater. Here we discover one of Africa's largest permanent concentrations of wildlife in the spectacular surroundings of the world's largest intact caldera.

Amboseli & The Rift Valley
Before leaving Tanzania we explore the rivers, plains and game of Tarangire National Park which boasts the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem among its myriad primeval baobab trees. Entering Kenya we first make for Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and perfect backdrop views of Kilimanjaro. We end our journey back in the Rift Valley relaxing on the shores of Lake Naivasha, famed for its birdlife from fish eagles to kingfishers as well as the antelope and hippo that frequent the shoreline.
