This week-long island hopping tour of the Faroe's is designed for independent travellers who love challenging experiences. It invites you to fly with a helicopter, visit the bird paradise of Mykines, hike independently and visit the Viking island of Skuvoy. Whether travelling as a couple or with friends you'll get a great overview of the highlights of these islands on this trip.
Morning trip to Nolsoy with the ferry Ritan, approx. 20 minutes sailing time. Sightseeing in the village of Nolsoy with a local guide. Opportunity to walk on your own to Boroan, a trip that takes approximately 5 hours there and back. Here you will see the lighthouse that William Heinesen called the 'Tower at the End of the World'. A picnic lunch and dinner is included on Nolsoy.
Take the ferry Ritan back to Torshavn and continue by helicopter to Mykines, which is the most westerly village in the Faroes. It is a fascinating place with many species of birds and the opportunity to see puffins up close.
Walking tour on your own to Mykinesholm. This exciting walk will take you to the extreme edge of the Faroe Islands, giving you many fabulous views on the way. It takes approx. 4 hours there and back. The walk takes you over the bridge between Mykines and Mykinesholm where you can see gannets that only breed here. A picnic lunch will be enjoyed en route. The walk is without a guide, although it is possible to request one at an extra cost.
Travel by helicopter to Skuvoy, where the famous Viking chief Sigmund Brestisson built the first Christian church on the Faroes. On arrival, lunch will be served in a local home, after which we suggest a walk to Fagradal taking approx. 2 hours there and back.
Take the local ferry from Skuvoy to Sandoy. The day will be spent in the village of Sand, which is said to have been inhabited since the Viking Age. Archaeological excavations show that the village is one of the oldest on the Faroes. A picnic lunch is eaten on route before continuing with the local bus to the village of Skopun, where the ferry Teistin will sail to Gamlaraett. The local bus will then drive back to Torshavn.
A free day in Torshavn, perhaps taking in a museum, art gallery or the Nordic House. A walk through the old part of the town called Tinganes and Reyn is recommended.

Return flights with Atlantic Airways, airport taxes, return shuttle service, accommodation, transport and meals as described in the itinerary.
