This short 2 day trip from Muscat takes you along the Omani coastline visiting the famous Bimah sinkhole, Fins Beach, Wadi Tiwi and finally to Ras Al Had where the evening will be spent at Turtle Beach watching the turtles nesting on the sands.
On your second day will begin at the coastal town of Sur, famous for dhow building and seafaring before arriving at the beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid and its clear deep blue waters. Before returning to Muscat we stop at Wahiba Sands for a drive over the dunes and a visit to a Bedouin family.

At 08:00 hours depart by 4WD to Ras Al Junaiz via the scenic and rugged coastal route. This tour offers breathtaking glimpses of the Gulf of Oman offset by pristine white beaches. After we drive past the fishing village of Quriyat your first stop is at Bimah sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. Then you pause at Fins Beach, one of the beautiful white sandy beaches. While driving along the coast you might see fleet footed gazelles sprint across the landscape.
You drive on to Wadi Tiwi where the road winds between houses. The sight is remarkable with its lush green plantations with water flowing all year around. A picnic lunch will be served at convenient place. On arrival at Ras Al Had check-in to the hotel. After dinner enjoy a short drive to Turtle Beach to watch the turtles nesting on the sands.
After breakfast you commence your slow journey back to Muscat. Your drive takes you via the town of Sur, the Wadi Bani Khalid and Wahiba Sands.
The coastal town of Sur was once famous for dhow building, trading and seafaring. You will visit the dhow building unit (presently under renovation), then drive on to Wadi Bani Khalid which comprises of small pretty villages embedded in the mountains. The Wadi itself has clear deep blue water. It is advisable to wear light comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Lunch will be served at one of the local restaurants.
Then drive on to the Wahiba Sands, a vast mass of undulating red and white dunes which is also host to a variety of flora and fauna. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographers delight. Experience a roller coaster like feeling as your experienced drivers drive you over the dunes. The Wahiba Sands is also home to the traditional bedouin people who are known for their hospitality and their knowledge of the sands. You will stop by a bedouin family in their traditional and simple habitat. Return to Muscat at approximately 17:30 hours.
Accommodation on twin/double sharing basis on half board basis at Ras Al Had Beach hotel or similar, 2 days tour as per itinerary using 4WD with English speaking driver with maximum 4 passengers in one car, picnic lunch on day 1 and lunch at local restaurant on day 2, all entrance fees.
Other meals, any beverages during meals (including bottled mineral water), items of a personal nature, anything not mentioned above.
