Pharaonic Egypt did not stop where today's borders are between Egypt and Sudan, many remains from ancient Egypt can be found in Sudan, with The Temple of Soleb being one of the main treasures.

The Temple is on the western banks of the Niles with a pathway leading from the river directly to the temples main rooms.  Built by Amenophis the third in the 14th century BC in memory of his many battle victories in the area the temple is one the best preserved in Sudan.
