The Immatong Mountains are situated along the Ugandan/Sudanese border, covered in verdant tropical forest they include Mount Kinyeti which rises to 3187 metres and is the highest peak in Sudan.  The mountains offer a cooler climate from the heat of the rest of the country.

The mountains are now home to the tribes of Pari And Aoholi and currently controlled by rebel forces making in unsafe to visit.
