Pico da Antónia National Park is named after the highest mountain on Santiago Island, standing at a height of 1,392m. The park contains one of the largest forest areas in the archipelago. To the west of the park the terrain is predominantly hilly, while to the east, huge rocks divide the mountain range from the green valleys of Orgãos.

This exceptionally scenic park is best explored on foot. The network of trails in the park is slowly developing but does still offer a variety of easy, moderate and more challenging hiking trails – including a possible summit ascent of Pico da Antónia. The panorama from the summit offers a view to the central part of the island and its surrounding mountains and hills.

Attractions in Pico da Antónia National Park
