Remarkable Rock Art of Tsodilo
Northern Botswana, Botswana
Over many thousands of years the rocky hills of Tsodilo have been visited and settled by humans, who have left rich traces of their presence in the form of outstanding rock art. Although not on the normal safari circuits, a 6-7 hour drive from Maun will reward travellers with one of the highest concentrations of rock art in the world.
Background
Inscribed by the World Heritage Committee in 2001, Tsodilo is located in the harsh landscape of the Kalahari Desert in the Ngamiland District of north-west Botswana, en-route to the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta.
