Largest Lake on the Balkan Peninsula

Located in north-west Albania/eastern Montenegro and bisected by the Montenegro/ Albanian border, the 370 sq. km Lake Shkodra is the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula and has an average depth of only 8m and a maximum of 44m. It is also a popular summer holiday destination for eastern Europeans.
