With magnificent scenery, quiet mountain villages, ancient temples to rival those in Greece and amazing food it’s not hard to see why Sicily is so popular. It draws those in search of outdoor activities such as walking, biking, canyoning and jeep safaris right through to culture vultures who want to see some of Europe’s finest ancient and modern historical remains and all leave more than happy.

From the capital, Palermo, to Ragusa and Noto fine Baroque architecture has drawn the enthusiast of classical architecture for many years now and mix this with the opportunity to wander Agrigento’s 'Valley of the Temples', and wonderful places such as Mozia, Enna and Taormina and you an see why it’s a holiday destination in its own right.

Off shore the volcanic Aeolian Islands mirror the mainland’s Mt Etna, whose winter snow-capped peak can usually be visited – activity allowing. It’s fertile slopes produce abundant organic crops and it’s no surprise food and cooking courses are a growing attraction.

With all this Sicily has something for all and is a wonderful year-round destination. Visit. Soon!
