The United Arab Emirates or UAE is a federation of 7 Sheikhdoms that have come together to form one of the new powerhouses of world economy. One of these, Dubai, leads the world in amazing construction projects and shopping, arguably overtaking Hong Kong as the new must-visit retail-therapy destination of the 21st century.

But it’s not just shopping and 7* hotels on offer. The UAE have other attractions ranging from camel racing, dhow cruising, stunning white-sand beaches, diving, hot air ballooning and the world-famous ‘sport’ of dune-bashing. A visit needn’t break the bank as along with amazing luxury hotels a range of very comfortable 4* hotels mean that everyone can afford a visit.

Head into the desert for a taste of Arabia, travel the 2 hours or so to Khasab on Oman’s amazing Musandam Peninsula for great diving and out of this world mountain safaris, take a traditional dhow and explore the coast and give the credit card a thump with great shopping.

Amazing events that attract worldwide interest include the F1 Grand Prix (Abu Dhabi in 2009), the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament (28th January – 3rd February 2008), the Dubai Tennis Championship (February 2008) and the Dubai World Cup – the world’s richest horse race!

Whatever your reason for coming to the UAE you’ll be assured of one thing – a trip of a lifetime in an unforgettable destination.
