My husband and I spent a relaxing week in Kas. It is a very pretty town with a picturesque harbour, cobbled streets and lots of little shops, bars and restaurants, great for wandering around and spending time people watching. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from so there is no difficulty in finding a different one each night. The evenings become quite lively with bars open late so there are always places to go. Although there is no beach at Kas our hotel had a pool and a great view over the town and down to the harbour. We took a boat trip for the day to the island of Kastellorizo, where we had a few hours to explore the village and have lunch. Another great day out is to do a sea kayaking trip at Kekova, to see the sunken city ruins. All in all we had a great time, the people are very friendly and it is a fantastic place for a holiday or as a base to explore the area and get the adrenaline flowing with one of the adventurous activities that are available.

Sea Kayaking at Kekova: A great day out

Kayak lunchtime!

Whilst on holiday in Kas my husband and I took the opportunity to enjoy a day of sea kayaking at Kekova. After a safety run through we set off in the refreshingly cool and calm waters, stopping off at a small beach for a swim. We then reached the sunken city ruins which can easily be seen through the clear waters and are an amazing sight. At the village of Simena we paddled right up to one of the restaurants, tied up our kayaks and had a leisurely lunch before paddling back to our starting point.
Having never been in a sea kayak before, I was a complete beginner and went in a double kayak with my husband. I found the day to be very enjoyable, with a great guide and once you get the hang of paddling, quite easy.

This is a perfect day out from Kas which combines a scenic boat ride and a few hours on the island. You have plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely lunch at one of the harbour side restaurants as well as a stroll around the picturesque town. You also get a great view of Kas and the coast.

Paris is a great place to visit if you are looking for a short break destination. For a large city it is easy to get around so all the main sights can easily be seen in two or three days. I personally recommended a trip up to the top of the Eiffel tower, a boat trip along the Seine and a visit to the Louvre museum. The Jardin de Tuileries is a nice place to take a break before walking up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. Before my husband and I had to depart we spent some time in the Montmartre area, famous for its artists and imposing white church, Sacre Coeur, from where you get another fantastic view of the city. A pleasant time was spent sat at a street café watching the world go by.
